Quick answer. Building Permit Records is not a government agency. We do not issue certificates, we do not file documents, and we are not the office that keeps the building permit records record.
What Building Permit Records will not sign
Building Permit Records does not archive city files and does not certify that work was done correctly.
Historic records may be microfilm or a records request. “Not on the website” is not “no permit.” Note how you searched and what the clerk said.
The useful fields are the permit number, issue date, work description, contractor, and inspection results. A permit that was issued and never inspected is not the same as a finaled permit. Say which one you found.
